Chinese Ambassador WU Peng Attends the 65th Anniversary Celebration of Kenema Government Secondary School

On April 28, 2017, Ambassador WU Peng of the People's Republic of China to Sierra Leone attended the 65th Anniversary Celebration of Kenema Government Secondary School and Kenema Old Students' Association in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone. A population of over 500, including the principal and the board members, the old and current students of the school witnessed the event.

In his keynote address, Ambassador WU thanked the organizers of the event for inviting him as the guest of honor for the ceremony. He went on to note that, over the years China's cooperation of educational relationship with Sierra Leone has been fruitful. He said every year hundreds of students from Sierra Leone go to China for pursuing their studies and short term training programs which have helped to promote the understanding between the peoples and reinforce the foundation of friendship of the two nations.

Ambassador WU also said that the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone would strengthen the cooperation with the educational authorities and the schools to promote educational relationship between the two countries to a new stage. He wished the school a prosperous future and encouraged the pupils to work hard to contribute to the national development of Sierra Leone.

The event was climaxed with a special discussion seminar on the topic of The Role & Contribution of China to the Educational Development of Sierra Leone.
