On April 8, 2024, Ambassador Wang Qing accompaniedH.E. Dr. Alhaji Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh,Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, to attend the cornerstone laying ceremony of 30 MTPA processing plant and heavy fuel oil power plantof Leone Rock Metal Group in Tonkolili. He also inspected workplace safety of related Chinese enterprises.

    Ambassador Wang Qing congratulated on the rapid development of the project, which played an important role in promoting local mining development, economic growth, livelihood improvement and China-Sierra Leone economic cooperation. He said,the Chinese side will vigorously implement the important consensus of the two heads of states, further strengthen practical cooperation in mining and other fields, encourage more high-quality Chinese investment to Sierra Leone, and promote more tangible achievements.

    H.E. Vice President Jalloh spoke highly of Leone Rock Metal Group’s contribution to promoting Sierra Leone's mining industry and economic and social development，and social responsibility. He expressed expectation of deepening cooperation in mining and other fields with the Chinese side, and more benefit of the two peoples.

    Ambassador Wang Qing and Counsellor Du Zijun also inspected workplace safety of the project, and held discussion on workplace safety and operation in accordance with law and rules with related Chinese enterprises.
