On 28th February 2024, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province Fang Wei led a delegation to visit Sierra Leone, called on Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, and held China Jiangsu-Sierra Leone cooperation conference, while Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy in Sierra Leone Zhang Dianbin attended the relevant activities.

Vice Governor Fang Wei stated that Jiangsu Province and Sierra Leone have close practical cooperation and exchanges in various fields, with great potential. Jiangsu province is willing to further explore opportunities for cooperation in related fields with Sierra Leone and contribute to better serving the overall friendly relations between China and Sierra Leone.

 Chargé d'affaires Zhang said that the visit of the Jiangsu delegation coincided with President Julius Maada Bio's state visit to China, and hoped that the delegation would grasp new opportunities and release new potentials under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, and promote greater development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides.

 Vice President Jalloh welcomed the visit of the Jiangsu delegation and thanked Jiangsu Province for its long-term strong support for the development of Sierra Leone, and welcomed more Jiangsu enterprises to invest in Sierra Leone, and the government of Sierra Leone will do its best to guarantee and support.

On the same day, China Jiangsu - Sierra Leone cooperation conference held in Freetown. Vice Governor Fang Wei, Chargé d'affaires a.i. Zhang Dianbin, Minister of Local Government and Community Affairs of Sierra Leone Amb. Tamba Lamina delivered speeches, and nearly two hundred guests attended the meeting, including high-ranking dignitaries, key enterprises and representatives of friendly organizations.
